Its
really distresses me to be a homeowner in Fairway Estates
and take pride in my yard to have neighbors allow their pets
to do there business in ones yard and not clean up after
them. If your the owner of the brown cocker spaniel and you
walk the vicinity of Ruthbern, Mardrake and Edgewater PLEASE
clean up after your pet. Granite this is not the only one
who doesn't so again to all who walk your pets PLEASE clean
up after they do their business.

Wow!
The parking issue is a bit ridiculous! For the past few
months that my family and I have lived in our home we have
noticed several cars parked on the side of the road just as
I was today and have had no action taken out on them. I
today had my car parked a tad bit on my lawn to keep the
speedy drivers on my street from hitting it and I received a
ticket, I also noticed that there were several other cars on
my street today parked the same exact way so I decided to
ask my neighbors if they had received a ticket as well and
what do you know they didn't. We also had another issue a
few months back with our dogs barking once again we received
a ticket and multiple other homes have dogs that bark but it
does not seem to be an issue. Seems to me that we are being
targeted for what reason we do not know. We are a young
couple trying to raise a family in what we thought was a
friendly neighborhood but we keep having issues arise. We
would appreciate a friendly knock on the door pertaining to
such problems instead of people calling the police. We would
have no problem moving our cars or bringing our dogs in or
solving any other issue in a friendly manner. Instantly
calling the police is not friendly nor neighborly. I'm sure
others would agree. I look forward to meeting all my
neighbors.

Another
night of police activity in the 1400 block of Ruthbern Rd
within our community. How much screaming and words of
profanity does neighbors have to listen to before action is
taken on rental properties where the trouble comes from. I'm
not against rentals or the owners of rentals but what I do
have a problem with and sure as many of the neighbors is the
trouble and uncaring that come from SOME of the renters.
They should take pride and ownership of the home and the
community as if it were their own. We have a great community
in here Fairway Estates and those of us who have been here
for sometime take pride in living here and not for the
profanity and screaming late at night that goes on outdoors
and can be heard in a home with doors and windows closed.
One may think this is all related to teens but we have grown
adults bringing down the great neighborhood we live in. An
example of the great neighborhood we live in can be seen
this Christmas season with all the lights and decorations.
So renters please conduct your uncanty business inside when
you have problems with your neighbors AND TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR
COMMUNITY.

WOW,
I am looking at all the neighborhood discussions and haven't
seen any recent complaints about break-ins. We had our
neighbor across the street get broken into in broad daylight
last week and another on the north end of our street with a
garage door open and someone came in and stole items. I have
a friend on Golfview that says he had bikes stolen again out
of his garage and it was only open for fifteen minutes. He
also informed me that he has chased numerous groups of boys
coming up the golf course path from the back gate. What can
be done about this? Can we get the golf course involved and
either put up cameras or make access to our neighborhood
harder for these individuals? Please let's work together to
make our neighborhood safer before someone get's broken into
while they are home.

The residents have someone and something to be PROUD of. We
have Ed Savard who takes the time to make sure Fairway
Estates has a great website. I like the new one Ed! Great
Job. Appreciate all the updates on thing happening and think
more residents need to make use of the board in a good way.
Thanks Ed. A resident of Fairway Estates

Please
keep dong on a leash or in a fence. We walk the entire
neighborhood and only have a problem on Ruthbern Road with a
black dog and a guy named Rick. His dog is always off a
leash. And not just in his yard. He walks all over with the
dog, no leash. The dog barks and runs towards us. Many times
we avoid the block. We should not have to do that. Please
put the dog on a leash or behind a fence. We have considered
calling animal control. Thanks you.

There
seems to be a lot of code enforcements being ignored. There
are business vehicles being parked on lawns and in driveways
overnight regularly as well as cars and trucks parked on
lawns on a daily basis. This certainly does not enhance our
neighborhood or improve property values. Is there anything
to be done? Code enforcement for the city has been contacted
several times. Does this bother anyone else?

What can be done about the home
at 1512 Edgewater Road? Kids on the property using the
trampoline, accumulating newspapers, unkempt yard, etc. Is
this house occupied? Per public records, the second home rider
states this house should be used exclusively by the owner and
not be rented. This house is turning into an eyesore!

Any chance of getting the
updated minutes of the last home owners assoc meeting posted
here. last is October 2006. also is there a chance that we the
community can get earlier notice of meetings instead of the
sign being placed at the entrance or a short notice via paper
at your door ? Thanks

Hello Neighbors. In most recent weeks our residence was in
need of Emegency Medical Services. Due to double parking on
both sides of the street and some parked out more than others,
EMS was not able to continue down our street. A delay was
caused as they had to back up and come in from a different
street and direction. Please obey parking rules as next time
YOU or I may not be so lucky in a delay of EMS. Thanks J.

Has anyone had a door to door salesperson come to your door
offering FREE welcome mats in return they want to get inside
your house supposedly to do an air quality test? A home owner
on Sunland had a suspicious individual trying to gain entrance
to their home using this approach.
With the "Do Not Call List" more and more salespeople are
going door to door. Be VERY careful who you let in your home.
You can never be too careful.

Any suggestions on how to keep my neighbor from feeding my dog
table scraps? I have asked many times! The last request became
heated, and resulted in her husband putting up several panels
of privacy fencing, but there's still several feet open that
allows my dog to be seen thru our chain link fence. She does
not hand feed him, she stands 10 feet back and throws whatever
over, hamburger, hot dogs, spam, lots of ice cream.....

I often visit and stay with relatives in Fairway for periods
of several weeks or months at a time. I was wondering if there
may be families with children between the ages of 3 and 6 that
may be interested in having play groups. I have two active
boys that are 3 and 5 that would love to find a few friends in
the neighborhood to play with.

Has anyone heard more about the break-ins in our community? I
have spoken with a detective that was assigned to our case
approximately a month ago and he told me that there would be
undercover cops patrolling our neighborhood and then a few
days later more people got broken into. I live on Sunland and
about a week ago there were gun shots and cops on my street
about 3 am. I am just a concerned neighbor wondering if we as
a community can do more to help.

Recently a home in Fairway Estates was rented at the corner of
Beville and Edgewater. A utility trailer and a pick-up truck
are parked on the lawn and frankly, it is unsightly. Are
Renters not bound by the same regulations as homeowners? Given
the location at the entrance to Fairway Estates the appearance
of the vehicles parked on the lawn does not give a very good
impression for motorists on Beville Road or those
entering Fairway Estates. Please reply...

Reply to Parking on Lawns
Owners and tenants are required to adhere to the laws.
If they do not, you can report them as a code violation. This
property was advertised for rent by Expert Realty. You could
try calling them. The code enforcement officer for Fairway
Estates is Jayne Cartin and her number is 671-8152. One last
thought - as the election is next week, this might be a good
time to call the Mayor's office and voice your concerns. This
is not the only property in Fairway Estates that needs the
attention of code enforcement. It would be wonderful if
everyone showed pride in their property and respect for their
neighbors by keeping their property up.

There are quite a few dog owners in our development. Many of
them like to walk their dogs in our neighborhood. This is good
exercise for the owner as well as the dog. Unfortunately, many
of these owners do not carry a sack and a scooper to pick up
their pets droppings. I have had to clean someone's pets
calling cards twice. These people know who they are and
should do the right thing and pick up after their pets. Posted
